Answer key and points per question
Turn on quiz mode and each question gets an answer key: the correct option and a point value. Give a hard question 3 points and an easy one 1. A wrong answer scores 0; there is no negative marking.
Set the correct answers and points, share the link, and Askyo grades every submission for you. Test takers see “X out of Y” the moment they finish. Built for classrooms, universities, employee training and onboarding.
Build your questions, switch on quiz mode in the survey settings, and mark the correct answer and points on each question. Publish the test and share the link. The server grades each submission, and the test taker sees “X out of Y” on the final screen. Quiz mode works on the free plan too.
Turn on quiz mode and each question gets an answer key: the correct option and a point value. Give a hard question 3 points and an easy one 1. A wrong answer scores 0; there is no negative marking.
For questions with rounding, set a tolerance. A correct answer of 120 with a tolerance of 5 accepts anything from 115 to 125. Without one, only the exact number counts.
For short written answers, list every acceptable spelling: “Washington”, “George Washington”, “G. Washington”. Leading and trailing spaces are ignored, and matching is case-insensitive unless you make it strict.
After submitting, the test taker sees their score and the maximum on the final screen. No manual marking, no spreadsheet.
A branch on the logic graph can lead to its own ending, for example different next steps for people who did or did not complete the safety briefing. One ending on Free, up to 5 on Pro, unlimited on Team and above.
The published test does not contain the answer key. It stays on the server, and grading happens there after submission, so a student opening browser dev tools will not find the answers.
Turn on single response and a second visit from the same browser shows that the test is already done. For strict control, add a respondent key to each person’s link, such as an employee ID: the server rejects a second submission with the same key.
Put pages with a video, an image, text or a document between the questions, and you get a lesson with a knowledge check at the end.
Points apply to 11 question types: single choice, multiple choice, yes/no, dropdown, image choice, card choice, short text, number, date, time, and date and time. That covers most tests of facts, terms, formulas and dates.
Multiple choice is all or nothing. If three options are correct and the test taker picks two, the answer is wrong: there is no partial credit. Say so in the question text so it does not feel like a trick.
Scales, matrices, ranking, long text and file upload are not graded. Essays and worked solutions can stay in the test, but you will have to mark them yourself.
Five jobs a self-grading test does well.
A ten-question check at the end of a lesson, a start-of-year diagnostic, a reading check for homework. Post the link in your LMS or show the QR code on the board. Ask for the student’s name first so you know whose answers you are reading.
Open templateLecture checks, lab prerequisites, a terminology check before a seminar. Numeric tolerance suits physics and economics problems where students round differently. Accredited educational institutions get 50% off.
Policy, safety and product knowledge checks. A personal link with an employee key gives one attempt per person. The test gives you a measurable score; it does not replace a formal performance review.
Open templateA company video, a document with working standards and eight comprehension questions behind a single link. New hires take it on day one, and their buddy sees which topics need a conversation.
A placement test, a check after each module, a final assessment. The test embeds on your course site with a one-line widget, so learners never leave your domain.
Test takers see their score immediately. You see every response in the dashboard, what each person picked and a summary per question. The summary shows at once which question half the class got wrong, which usually means the topic or the wording needs another look.
Each person’s total score is sent to your webhook along with the answers (Pro plan and up), and from there you can push it into a spreadsheet through Make or Zapier. There is no separate score column in the dashboard’s response table yet. CSV export is on Pro and up, Excel on Team and up.
From an empty survey to a link for your test takers. Signing up is free.
Open the builder at app.askyo.ru/build. Add questions from the palette or describe the test to Yo, the AI assistant: it drafts the questions and shows every change before applying it.
In the survey settings, turn on quiz mode. The builder shows how many questions can be graded and what the maximum score is.
Open each question, mark the correct option and its points. Add a tolerance to numeric answers and list every accepted spelling for text answers.
Turn on single response. For staff tests, hand out personal links with a respondent key, so a second attempt fails even from another device.
Share the link or QR code, or embed the test on your site. Take the test yourself first and check that correct answers score.
Marketing quizzes and trivia are covered on the quiz maker page, and lessons with video and a knowledge check on the online courses page. If you want opinions rather than right answers, for example after a course, use a questionnaire or an employee survey. Ready-made questionnaires for schools are on the parent survey page.
Yes. Quiz mode with answer keys, points and a result screen works on the free plan, which includes 5 surveys and up to 150 responses. The free plan limits you to one ending and has no export; CSV export starts on Pro.
Turn on quiz mode in the survey settings and give each question a correct answer and points. After submission, the server compares the answers with the key and shows the test taker “X out of Y”. Only long written answers need manual marking, because they are not graded.
No. The published test does not include the answer key. It stays on the server, where grading happens after submission, so browser dev tools reveal nothing useful. The correct answers are not shown after submission either: test takers see only their total score.
Yes, with the single response setting. The basic check works per browser, so a private window counts as a new person. For strict control, give each person a link with their own respondent key, and the server will reject a second submission with that key.
No. Askyo currently has no time limit, no shuffling of questions or options and no random question bank. For a high-stakes exam that needs them, a dedicated assessment platform is the better choice.
The free plan needs no payment at all. Card checkout for international customers is not available yet, so paid plans on the English site are arranged through the request form on the pricing page, and we reply by email.
Free, no card needed. Points and the “X out of Y” score work on every plan.
