Paper forms that only existed for the signature
Handover sheets for finished work, equipment issue forms, parental permission slips for a school trip, visitor logs at a reception desk. The content of each fits a normal form; the paper was there for the signature. A drawn signature keeps the familiar gesture and removes the scanner.
A drawn signature is not the same thing as a qualified electronic signature, and the form does not turn one into the other. Whether a scribble is enough for your document is a question for your lawyer, not for the form builder.
What to put above the signature box

- Parent or guardian signature
- Signature of the person receiving the equipment
State in the question what the person is confirming. A bare «Sign here» leaves them guessing, and leaves you without a record of what they agreed to.
Canvas, pen colour and what gets stored
The block has one setting: pen colour (near-black by default). On a phone the respondent draws in the box with a finger; a «Clear» button wipes it for a second try. The signature is uploaded as a PNG image and stored with the response, and results show how many signatures came in.

Signature form mistakes
Asking for a signature before the content is filled in. Put the signature block at the end, right after a short summary of what is being confirmed, so the person signs the finished record rather than a blank.
Skipping the name. A scribble on its own is hard to attribute later; add a short text question for the full name next to the signature box.
Expecting a mouse signature to look like a pen one. On a laptop without a touch screen, signatures come out shaky. That is normal, and a reason to route signature forms to phones and tablets where possible.
