The sample questions are general school knowledge (planets, photosynthesis, mammals, mental arithmetic, the capital of Australia, boiling water, «Eugene Onegin»), but the point of the template is how it is built, not its subject. It shows every main way of scoring an answer: one option from a list, several correct options, a number, a word with accepted spellings, yes or no, and a dropdown. Replace the questions with your own subject; the answer key is edited in the same place. Use it for a baseline check at the start of a term, a reading check or self-assessment after a lesson. Plausible wrong answers (oxygen, nitrogen) test understanding rather than luck. 6. Which of these animals are mammals? Only the exact set counts: dolphin and bat, without shark and penguin. 7. What is 15 × 12? [Number](https://askyo.ru/en/question-types/number) 15 × 12 as a number, 2 points. A numeric key does not care how the student typed the answer, unlike a text field. 8. What is the capital of Australia? [Short answer](https://askyo.ru/en/question-types/short-text) The capital of Australia as a typed word, 1 point. The key accepts «Canberra» and «Канберра», and letter case does not matter. 9. At normal atmospheric pressure, does water boil at 100 °C? [Yes / No](https://askyo.ru/en/question-types/yes-no) Does water boil at 100 °C at normal pressure: yes or no, 1 point. 10. Dropdowns suit questions with many options. 11. Test complete [Text block](https://askyo.ru/en/question-types/statement) The closing screen says the test is complete and the score is on the result screen. The test is worth 9 points across 7 scored questions. Template ## How to adapt the template 1. Replace the questions and check the answer key in the quiz settings: each scored question has its correct answer and points marked. 2. For numeric answers that may be rounded, set a tolerance, for example accept anything within 0.1. 3. For typed answers, list every accepted spelling: British and American variants, full names and abbreviations. 4. Give more points to questions that need reasoning, as the template does with multiple choice and arithmetic. 5. For self-assessment you can delete the name field. Template ## How to read the results Students see their points and number of correct answers on the result screen. You see every response in your account and can export to CSV to copy marks into your gradebook. Look at results per question, not just totals. If half the class missed the mammals question, the topic has not landed, and that is not about individual carelessness. Set your own points-to-grade conversion before you publish. The template counts points, not grades. If several classes share one link, filter by the «Class or group» field when you work through the export. Template ## Common mistakes - Leaving out a correct option in a multiple-answer key. A student who ticks everything right then scores zero. - Using a typed answer where a choice or a number would do. Every spelling you did not list is marked wrong. - Giving every question the same weight, then wondering why the total does not reflect understanding. - Not taking the test yourself before publishing. Five minutes of checking saves a round of «the key is wrong» complaints. Frequently asked questions ## Questions about the «Knowledge test with scoring» template How do I make an online quiz with automatic scoring? Open the template, replace the questions and, in the quiz settings, mark the correct answer and points for each question. Points can differ between questions. Once published, students take the test by link or QR code and see their total on the result screen. Which question types can be scored? Single and multiple choice, yes/no, dropdowns, card and image choice, short text with several accepted spellings, numbers with a tolerance, and date and time. Rating scales, matrices and long text answers are not scored. How is a question with several correct answers marked? Points are awarded only when the student ticks exactly the options in the key, no more and no fewer. There is no partial credit, so it makes sense to give these questions more points, as the template does.
