# Image upload question

An image upload question asks the respondent for a picture: a screenshot of a bug, a photo of a damaged parcel, a snap of finished work. It accepts image files only and shows a preview once the upload lands, so people can see they picked the right shot before they submit.

## Screenshots, damage photos and proof of work

One screenshot replaces a paragraph of «the button on the left, no, the other one». Returns desks use photos to judge damage before a courier is booked. Field teams send a picture of the installed equipment instead of a tick in a checklist, and a review form can ask for a photo of the dish or the room.

For PDFs, spreadsheets or logs pick the general file upload block instead; this one takes images only.

- Add a screenshot of the error message, if you have one.
- Upload a photo of the parcel and the label.
- Show us the finished installation: one wide shot and one close-up.

## Size limit, count and previews on mobile

The default limit is 5 MB per image; you can raise or lower it, allow several images and cap how many. On a phone the picker opens the gallery or the camera, and each image appears as a thumbnail once uploaded, so a wrong photo is easy to spot.

Errors are specific: an oversized image names the file and the limit, and going over the count says how many are allowed. In results you get image counts and an extension breakdown; the CSV holds file names.

## Getting photos you can actually use

Say what the picture should show. «Upload a photo» brings back a blurry shot of a box; «a photo of the label with the order number visible» brings back something a support agent can act on without writing back.

Ask for two angles when one is not enough. A damage claim is easier to judge with one wide shot and one close-up, and allowing up to two or three images with the count setting keeps people from sending twenty.

Mind the privacy side. Photos of homes, documents and faces are personal data; collect them only when you need them, and say who will see them.

## Image upload question: common questions

Should the image question be required?

Only when the case cannot be handled without it, such as a damage claim. For bug reports keep it optional and say «if you have one». A required screenshot makes people who are on another device give up, and you lose the text description as well.
