Card choice question Question type # Card choice question A card choice question shows each option as a card with a title and a short description, optionally with an icon and a colour. It works like single or multiple choice, but every option gets room to explain itself, which helps when the labels alone would leave the respondent guessing what they mean. A card holds that line; a radio button does not. The same goes for choosing a service type, an event format, a support channel or a project stage. The description answers the follow-up question before anyone asks it. For plain facts like age groups, cards are overkill. A simple list reads faster. Keep descriptions parallel. If one card says «delivered in a week» and the next says «our most popular option», you are comparing a fact with a sales line, and people pick the one that sounds nicer rather than the one that fits them. Three or four cards is the comfortable range. With eight cards, each with a line of text, the respondent is reading a price list, not answering a question. ## Examples of card choice wording - What kind of help do you need? (In person, Online, Recording only) ## Icons, colours and the layout on small screens Each card has a title and a description, and can get one of 16 icons and a colour from nine swatches or any hex code. A switch turns the block from one answer into several. When any card has an icon or a colour, the cards line up in an adaptive grid whose width depends on how long the text is. Plain cards sit in one column on a phone and two columns on a wider screen. Every card can start its own branch in the logic, and in quiz mode cards can be scored like any choice question. Results show a bar list by count with the most chosen card marked. Colours and icons stay in the survey; the export carries the card titles, so keep titles meaningful on their own.
