# Askyo vs Yandex Forms

Yandex Forms is familiar, has no response cap and is wired into Yandex 360. Here is where it is enough and where Askyo is easier.

## Which one to pick

### Pick Yandex Forms if

- your team runs on Yandex 360 and responses belong in Tracker or Wiki
- the form is linear, with no conditions or just a couple
- you need a lot of responses without paying for a plan
- you want every response delivered by email

### Pick Askyo if

- there are more than three or four conditions and you want to see them as one diagram
- you need ranking, pairwise comparison, NPS or a matrix
- the form has to live on your own site as a widget rather than an iframe
- you want a chat format or one question per screen

## In short

Yandex Forms does more than people assume: display conditions on questions and pages, scored tests, HTTP requests, an API and a Tracker integration. The differences with Askyo come down to three things: how logic is built (conditions on each question against one diagram), how many question types there are (about 20 in its reference against 43) and how the form sits on your site (an iframe against a script). Checked against the Yandex Forms help centre on 27 September 2026.

### Where Yandex Forms is strong

- yes No cap on the number of responses (per the “Technical limits” page of its help centre)
- yes Display conditions on a question or page, and scored tests
- yes Tracker, Wiki, Cloud Functions and DataLens for teams on Yandex 360
- yes An email and an HTTP request on every response, plus a public API

### Where Askyo is ahead

- yes All the logic is visible on one diagram instead of spread across per-question settings
- yes 43 question types: matrix, ranking, pairwise comparison, NPS, semantic differential
- yes A one-line script widget instead of an iframe: it renders in Shadow DOM and leaves your site styles alone
- yes Four ways to take a survey, including one question per screen and chat
- yes The Yo assistant drafts a survey from a plain-text description
- yes Ready-made Slack, Telegram and Sheets presets on the Team plan

## When Yandex Forms is the better choice

The honest part: cases where switching is not worth it.

### Your team already lives in Yandex 360

Forms for business adds shared editing, Tracker tasks, answers written to Wiki pages and DataLens dashboards. If your processes already run there, a separate survey tool adds one more integration point and simplifies nothing.

### Lots of responses and no budget

The Yandex Forms help centre sets no limit on responses. The Askyo free plan is meant for trying things out (150 responses in total), after which you need a paid plan. For large, linear sign-up forms without logic, Yandex Forms is the cheaper choice.

### You want email notifications

Yandex Forms emails you on each response; Askyo sends no email. Responses sit in the dashboard inbox and, from Pro, go to Telegram or a webhook. If requests are handled from a mailbox, Yandex Forms does it without any setup.

## How branching works in Yandex Forms and in Askyo

In Yandex Forms each question or page has display conditions: show it if a certain answer was picked in another question. For a form with two or three conditions that is plenty, and there is no reason to switch for the logic alone.

At ten conditions you are holding them in your head: to reconstruct a respondent’s path you open settings question by question. In Askyo the same survey is a diagram showing where each branch starts and ends. On a quiz with several outcomes or a job application with different questions per role, that saves real time when you check it.

## Putting the form on your own website

Yandex Forms gives you an iframe snippet with parameters for size and theme. That works, but an iframe is a separate page inside yours: your page styles do not reach inside it and its height is set in the snippet.

Askyo embeds with one script tag. The survey renders in Shadow DOM, weighs about 35 KB and does not touch your site styles. You can place it inline in the page or open it from any button through the JS API.

## Moving your surveys from Yandex Forms to Askyo

Askyo has no importer, from Yandex Forms or from anywhere else. A survey is rebuilt by hand. This is the order that takes the least time.

1. Download your responses from the Responses section of the Yandex form. Old responses do not move into Askyo, so the file stays with you as an archive.
2. Copy the question texts and answer options out of Yandex Forms into one document, in order, with a note on where each branch leads.
3. Open the Askyo builder and paste that text into the Yo assistant. It drafts the survey and shows every change before applying it; the free plan includes 10 Yo requests.
4. Check the question types: turn a 0–10 scale into an NPS question, a grid into a matrix, and phone or email into fields with input validation.
5. Build the logic on the diagram: drag arrows from answer options to the next questions, then walk through every branch yourself.
6. Publish, swap the old link for the new one, and put the one-line widget on your site.

## The verdict

If your team lives in Yandex 360, the form is linear and responses need to go to Tracker or by email, Yandex Forms does the job with no charge per response. Once a survey has more than three or four conditions, needs a widget on your own site or unusual question types, Askyo is easier to work with.

Frequently asked questions

## Yandex Forms or Askyo: common questions

Does Yandex Forms have branching logic?

Yes. Yandex Forms lets you set display conditions for a question or a page based on answers to other questions. The difference with Askyo is presentation: the conditions live in each question’s settings, whereas in Askyo all of the logic is on one diagram with jumps drawn as arrows.

Can I embed a Yandex form on my site?

Yes, with the iframe code from the form’s publishing settings. Askyo embeds differently: one script tag, and the survey renders in Shadow DOM without clashing with your page styles. You can show it inline in the page or open it from a button through the JS API.

How many responses can Yandex Forms take?

There is no limit on responses, according to the “Technical limits” page of the Yandex Forms help centre. Questions per form are unlimited too, though Yandex advises against more than 80. Askyo allows 150 responses in total on Free, 5,000 a month on Pro and 15,000 on Team.

Does Yandex Forms have an API?

Yes. Yandex Forms has a public REST API and an MCP server for AI assistants, and it can send an HTTP request on every response. Askyo sends webhooks from the Pro plan and opens its full REST API on Business, so for pure API work on a small budget Yandex Forms is ahead.

How is Askyo different from Yandex Forms?

In three ways. Logic is built on a diagram rather than as conditions on each question. There are 43 question types, including ranking, pairwise comparison and NPS. The form goes on your site as a script rather than an iframe. In return Yandex Forms has no response cap and sends emails, which Askyo does not.
