## Frequently asked questions

How is Askyo different from Typeform or Google Forms?

You build the survey as a diagram (visually, the way you would in Figma) instead of writing long lists of skip rules. The embeddable widget is 35 KB against 180–200 KB for typical alternatives, so it loads faster and does not slow your page down. And a survey here is just a file: download it, move it, run it on your own server. Nothing locks you in.

Do I need my own server?

No. For most cases there is nothing to host. Surveys run in the browser, and answers can go to Telegram, Google Sheets, a webhook or your Askyo dashboard on a paid plan. If you do need everything to stay inside your own infrastructure, there is a self-hosted build: we deploy Askyo on your server and responses never leave it. The licence is available either as a one-off perpetual purchase or as a subscription with support and updates. It is part of Enterprise: ask us, or see the agencies page.

Can I use the free plan commercially?

Yes. Free covers up to 5 surveys and 150 responses in total, enough for a survey on a small site or a handful of customer interviews. A small “made with Askyo” line sits under the form, and removing it takes the paid Enterprise plan.

Where is my data stored?

The hosted version runs on servers in Russia (Yandex Cloud). If your organisation needs data to stay in a specific jurisdiction or inside your own perimeter, the self-hosted build puts Askyo on infrastructure you choose and control, and responses never reach us at all. A white-label build under your own brand is available under a separate agreement.

How do you handle bots and fake responses?

Out of the box: a CAPTCHA step, hidden honeypot fields, completion-time analysis and a one-response-per-device limit. Heavier anti-fraud with photo verification is on the roadmap.

Can I embed a survey into WordPress, Webflow or a custom site?

Yes. The survey embeds with one line of code and works on any platform that lets you paste an HTML block: WordPress, Webflow, Framer, Shopify or your own front end. See the widget page for the snippet and the JavaScript API.

Can I build a quiz or a course, not just a survey?

Yes. The same graph editor builds quizzes and tests: turn on quiz mode, mark correct answers and assign points, and the participant sees an “X out of Y” result at the end. Alternate content pages (video, images, text) with questions and you get interactive training with knowledge checks, which is what teams use for onboarding. See the Quizzes and Courses pages.

Can I migrate surveys from another tool?

Yes. Import from Google Forms (via CSV) and Typeform (via file export) is supported today; more sources are in progress.

In which languages can I run a survey?

Any. Question text is yours to write, and the respondent-facing interface ships in English and Russian. The builder interface itself is available in both languages too, switchable from your account.

How does billing work outside Russia?

Prices are listed in roubles, and international card payments are not self-serve yet. Pick a plan and send us a request, and we will arrange an invoice and the payment method that works for your company.
